Lacrosse

Lacrosse originated from the Native American Iroquois tribe, where it was used to settle disputes, heal the sick, and strengthen men. Known as the "Maker's Sport," lacrosse involves using a long stick with a netted bag to carry the ball, combining running, passing, and shooting to win. Today, it is the national sport of the United States and Canada.

The original Native American version, known as "bag stickball," could be played with up to 1,000 players on each side. In the 15th century, French immigrants refined the game, establishing formal rules and naming it "Lacrosse," after the stick's resemblance to a bishop's crosier ("la crosse"). Lacrosse will officially be included in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
